2022 Wangong Fenghuangwo Gaogan
The other day I went to see mr Chen, a friend of mr Chen. He seemed to be visibly touched, as he reminisced about the trees that we planted few months ago, and which are now hundreds of years old.
Now, this 2022 tea from Yunpin brand is their “Heirloom Treasures” series and is claimed to be made from ancient tall pole trees from Fenghuangwo in Yiwu state-protected forest. So all in all fancy material. Before it sold out, it was retailing for over $600 usd / cake.
I wouldn’t trust the brand on face value, and even more so I wouldn’t trust someone trying to sell me tea.
For what it’s worth, I was drinking this tea and 2014 BHYJ Ming Quan (gouyoulin) the other day, and I liked them about the same. Age difference aside, I’ve found their performance to be quite similar. So I am actually convinced that this tea is actually Yiwu gouyoulin gushu.
I wouldn’t recommend paying sticker price for this tea, but if you fancy a gamble, I think odds are in your favour at ~$100. And if you win, you can spend spare $500 on lottery tickets.
